The MDC-T faction led by Thokozani Khupe says it has mobilised more than 4,000 delegates to attend the faction's extraordinary congress which will be held at the Large City Hall in Bulawayo on Saturday.
A spokesperson of the faction, Obert Gutu, said preparations for the congress are also on course.
"We are expecting 250 delegates from each province. We are also expecting some delegates from our diaspora structures such as UK, South Africa and Ireland. All in all, we are expecting close to 4000 people to attend our elective congress," said Gutu in an interview with New Zimbabwe.Com.
Gutu said the faction has also made strict security arrangements to protect delegates from any violence.
The Khupe faction was on April 7 forced to postpone the extraordinary congress after the event clashed with an MDC –Alliance rally which was held at the White City Stadium in the city.
