There was jubilation in Mazowe North on Independence Day where an aspiring ZANU PF candidate Campion Mugweni (34) donated five cows, six goats and food handouts to various wards in the constituency.

Mugweni who is a businessman received overwhelming support when he arrived at Forester Estate there by temporarily shutting proceedings as people went wild with joy.

Scores of people were gathered in different wards and he had the capacity to visit them and see how they were conducting their independence.

Talking to Bulawayo24.com Mugweni said it is high time people vote wisely for candidates with them in heart not just voting for the sake of voting.

"We are elated to be here celebrating the independence day in Mazowe North, in as much as we are celebrating it is within my power to donate food staffs to the people whom l desire to represent hence the donation," said Mugweni.

"I could not satisfy every ward , but at least with the little l did, it is a clear indication that l have people at heart gone are the days when people vote for famous name, he said in a jibe aimed at his rival Martin Dinha the sitting Member of Parliament."

Apparently, there is chaos in ZANU PF with aspiring candidates being disqualified and appealing to provincial and national leadership to intervene.
