The visiting Chinese delegation from the International Cooperation Centre of the National Development and Reform Commission of China says Zimbabwe should consider adopting a massive low cost housing initiative.

The new thrust by the government of luring more investors to open industries in Zimbabwe gives a challenge to the nation to invest in housing projects.

"The introduction of low cost housing projects will significantly reduce the country's housing backlog," the Chinese organisation's Deputy Director General, Madam Song Gongmei.

The delegation visited the Central sorting offices which are earmarked for the one stop shop centre.

The Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Mr Justin Mupamhanga said the meeting they held with the Chinese delegation was a success, adding that parties have managed to meet the set deadlines.

The Senior Principal Director in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Mr Ozias Hove said the training programmes unpacked by the Chinese are of immense benefit to the economy of Zimbabwe.

The delegation has expressed optimism that Zimbabwe is destined for greater heights under the stewardship of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
