ZANU PF supporters aligned to the sitting MP allegedly sabotaged Mazowe North aspiring candidates at Mvurwi community hall yesterday as people failed to turn up for a primary elections campaign meeting that was to be addressed by the candidates.

Sources familiar with the incident allege the incumbent Member of Parliament Advocate Martin Dinha instructed the coordinators to sabotage the campaigns. The team of aspiring candidates were left a disappointed lot today after they visited Mvurwi community hall anticipating to meet supporters and campaign, but were surprised to see the doors of the venue locked with no people in sight, explained the source.

The team subsequently went in farms around Mvurwi where Dinha's supporters are accused of displaying rowdy behaviour thereby disrupting proceedings. You see wherever these candidates are going there are a handful of Dinha's supporters causing chaos and demanding food. When Mugweni was forking out money some went berserk and wanted to disrupt the campaign but they were managed by a soldier who is manning the rallies, added the source.

However, Dinha was not in attendance as he is said to be out of the country on government business according to his aid.

The aid who was not friendly to the media accused the scribes of tarnishing Dinha's image and it was not a surprise that people did not show up at Mvurwi community hall.

"You media guys we are not happy with the way you are conducting your business it seems you are after my boss."

It is not surprising that people did not attend the campaigns because people are frustrated with the system, said the source.

Meanwhile, the team is moving in Chiweshe today to polish up in preparation for the Sunday primaries.
