A Zanu PF candidate in the primary election in Gokwe is reportedly using traditional leaders to campaign against fellow members.

This was revealed by the Zimbabwe Peace Projecvt in its latest report.

"Currently the ZPP is watching what is unfolding in the preparation for primary elections in the ruling Zanu PF. Note that the current cases are only about Zanu PF because they are the only party currently holding primary elections," said ZPP.

"In Gokwe Sesame Gorden Chanda is using traditional leaders to campaign for him in the ZANU PF primary elections. The sitting MP is unwanted as he is said to be an 'outsider' from Masvingo."

ZPP said in Chipinge South there are 5 candidates and those perceived to be G40 were booed by party supporters.

"In Mazowe at Dhawe farm people are being forced to attend ZANU PF meetings regardless of whether they are ZANU PF supporters or not. Tendai Nhau a ZANU PF supporter is threatening new farmers with eviction if they do not attend ruling party meetings. In ward 26 Jealous Mpofu reminded farmers that there would be a repeat of 2008 violence while demanding voter registration slips," said ZPP.
