Energy and Power Development minister Elton Mangoma came under fire from President Mugabe and Zanu-PF cabinet ministers at a high level meeting on Tuesday in which leaked Zesa bills, including disclosures that the First Family owed the power utility mire than $345 000 in unpaid power bills, featured prominently.
Sources said Indigenisation minister Saviour Kasukuwere attacked Mangoma for leaking "confidential information" about the bills to embarrass President Mugabe and Zanu-PF ministers, while scoring political points.
Mangoma angrily denied the allegations.
Industry and Commerce minister Welshman Ncube rescued Mangoma saying it was unprofessional for bills to be leaked because they were meant to be a private issue between Zesa and its clients.
A number of ministers felt the relationship between a client and Zesa should be similar to that of a client/lawyer, client/banker or patient/doctor relationship where confidentiality was paramount.
