A 34-year-old Military band member was reportedly arrested for causing terror in Mazowe North constituency while clad in military regalia.
Sources familiar with the incident allege Robert Dube moved around in military gear last Friday with all aspiring legislators saying he was maintaining peace.
Dube is also accused of indecently assaulting a party supporter Marble Meki (26) and also Brain Chipara all from Holland farm.
"The soldier is currently in police custody for two counts which he is denying though agreeing that he was part of the crowd while in military regalia," revealed the source.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe said he is currently furthering his studies and referred all questions to Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati whose mobile phone was power off up to the time of this print.
However, as smearing campaigns escalated in Mazowe North the soldier was alleged to have been hired by Campion Mugweni who was also in the race of Member of Parliament.
Dube reportedly exonerated Mugweni from his shenanigans as purported by his other rivals.
Contacted for comment Mugweni said he was summoned to Mvurwi police station to be told that the soldier was not implicating him.
"It is surprising to note that some of my rivals in the game were spreading malicious information that I hired a soldier to instil fear in supporters and someone big had actually called the top brass in the police to get me arrested.
When I went to the police station I was told the accused did not even implicate me in his statement," said Mugweni.
