Notorious armed robber cornered having sex with girlfriend, killed

A notorious armed robber on the police wanted list was killed in Chinhoyi over the weekend after being cornered by a mob having sex with his girlfriend.

Shame Kadenhe was killed at the home of his girlfriend at Tengwe resettlement farm in the Kenzamba area.

Mashonaland west police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara said members of the neighbourhood watch committee and a number of youths from the area cornered Kadhene at Elizabeth Matinyenya's home.

"The members of the watch identified themselves and ordered the suspect to come out of the house but he refused. They then broke into the house but Kadenhe resisted arrest," he said.

"The mob then ganged up and apprehended the suspect before recovering a 303 rifle and bullets tucked in the sofa.  The gun had been stolen during one of his raids at a local tuck shop.

"As he was being led to the police station, the suspect passed by a shop that he had terrorised for a long time, more people joined in and started assaulting the suspect."

When he finally got to the Kenzamba Police Station, Kadenhe who was seriously injured was referred to hospital but died along the way.
