Zimbabwe State Media claims that Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is reported to have promised British Prime Minister David Cameron to reverse the land reform programme and the indigenisation policy if he gets financial support from London to win the anticipated general elections.
Sources close to PM Tsvangirai's trip to London have revealed that he went to the United Kingdom with a begging bowel to solicit for funding from his counterpart ahead of the general elections expected this year, reported ZBC News.
The sources revealed that though Mr Tsvangirai was invited as a key speaker to a CEO's Africa Investors Conferences held annually in London, his talks with the British Premier were premised on general elections back home.
It is alleged that Britain pledged to give election funds to MDC-T to prop up Mr Tsvangirai and his party but with strings attached.
Some of the conditions alleged to have been set are that Mr Tsvangirai should protect the British interests in Zimbabwe by reversing the land reform and the indigenisation programmes in the event that he comes into power.
The Prime Minister's spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka dismissed the allegations but confirmed that the MDC-T leader had a meeting with the Mr Cameron and indeed discussed issues to do with elections in Zimbabwe.
The British Prime Minister had already confirmed his country's position as he was quoted advising Mr Tsvangirai to only participate in fair and peaceful elections which he said can only be conducive after the implementation of the so-called reforms.
Meanwhile, the MDC-T party structures in Britain are reported to be in shambles with latest revelations indicating that Mr Tsvangirai was snubbed by most of his external assembly executives who were said to be unhappy with allegations of corruption, scandals and amassing of wealth by their party's leadership.
