Former Zimbabwean President has snubbed a parliamentary portfolio committee on mines and mining for the second time.
Mugabe had been summoned to give oral evidence before the Temba Mliswa led committee on missing $15 billion revenue he alluded to during his birthday interview with ZBC in 2016.
Last week Wednesday, the former president failed to avail himself before the same parliamentary portfolio committee forcing them to reschedule for this Monday afternoon.
Mliswa, the mines and mining parliamentary portfolio committee chair told journalists after that they are going to write to Mugabe for the third and last time requesting him to appear before the committee.
" . . . we are going to write to him for the last time as required by the law. If he fails to attend this time, then we will take it to the next stage. But we are going to remind him of the certain provisions of the standing orders of parliament. We still respect him as former President and want his legacy to be protected."
He reminded the former President that the late Roy Bennet was imprisoned by parliament after being found to be in contempt of its authority.
