Zapu spokesperson Iphithile Maphosa has hailed the Zanu PF youth member Godwin Gomwe for sticking to the Lacoste faction that supported now President Emmerson Mnangagwa during the era of former First lady Grace Mugabe who victimised all those who supported the then Vice President.
"Of all the comrades in Zanu PF I have enough respect for one man who showed the other dimwits in that party what it means being principled. Godwin Gomwe picked a side, stuck by it thru all the humiliation and vindictiveness," Maphosa said.
"After becoming an outcast at Mama Gire's behest, patiently he waited for the coup, without shifting an inch from the Lacoste faction. Such is a rare quality in Zanu PF and many other political parties.
"Although I do not agree with Gomwe politically, I must admit, as a fellow young politician, I admire the principled way he handled himself in the thick of things as Zanu PF cracked and got to point of implosion."
