The Urban Councils Authority of Zimbabwe (UCAZ) has commended Bulawayo City Council (BCC) waterworks saying other local authorities will emulate it to improve the provision of potable water.
UCAZ is on a three-day service level benchmark peer review visit to the City of Bulawayo and has toured a number of water supply installations and waste treatment plants.
UCAZ chairperson Engineer Hosiah Chisango said BCC is one of the urban councils with a well-managed supply of potable water.
Engineer Chisango went on to say that all urban councils have adopted peer reviewing as a performance management tool as it enables local authorities not only to appraise each other but also share ideas and up their game in service delivery.
After the final day of service level benchmark peer review, the visiting members of UCAZ are expected to come up with a report on how the City of Bulawayo can improve on water supply, waste management as well as on road and public safety.
