Zapu UK Europe Province Official Statement of Endorsement

The newly elected UK Europe Provincial Executive Committee would like to thank the Provincial Council of Elders for successfully organising, guiding and supervising the Elections of the 24th of March 2012 in Birmingham.  Their dynamic and exemplary leadership is worth emulating. The new PEC would also like to send their appreciation and gratitude to the candidates/contestants and delegates for conducting themselves with exemplary dignity and great professionalism. Their turnout in large numbers surpassed expectations. It is this unity of purpose which is characteristic of ZAPU members that has always epitomised the vision and the unique values of ZAPU.

We are under no illusion that the work ahead of us will be difficult and challenging, but we are buoyed and inspired by the calibre of leadership that emerged on the 24th. The electoral process went very well and without squirmishes, the nomination and campaign processes were transparent and fully participative to the satisfaction of all ZAPU members, organs and Party structures. Mr Mhlanga the Secretary of the Elections Committee declared the election outcome as free and fair, therefore a credible and authentic reflection of the peoples' aspirations.

In the first meeting of the new PEC held shortly after the elections, Mr Christopher Mphosa articulated the purpose of his executive as follows; "…The vision and mission of this committee is simple and well focused, we have three main aims and these are; 1. Mobilisation of both human and financial resources for ZAPU as a whole, 2. To unite ZAPU in the UK, and 3. To lobby on the international stage."

As the newly elected Publicity and Information Secretary, I am humbled to introduce to you the newly elected members of ZAPU UK Provincial Executive Committee otherwise referred to as the PEC. This is a winning team, which will uphold the principles of democracy, transparency and fairness; dedication and commitment; hard work and selfless service to the public.

The people have spoken, democracy has prevailed and ZAPU is sprinting to the next government in Zimbabwe. The new UK/Euro PEC executive presents a balanced representation of youth, experience and gender, a visionary approach based purely on issues of equality and ability.

The Secretary General Dr. Ralph Mguni on his congratulatory message said; "√ɬ¢√¢‚Äö¬¨√Ǭ¶.There is no doubt in my mind that the Province is now set to become one of, if not the lead Province in ZAPU. The close cooperation between the various organs and structures of the Party, which is already evident and no doubt will be built upon are the foundation stones to the Party prospering in the Europe Province." On his written message, the spokesman for the President's message of endorsement of the activities of 24th March said; "√ɬ¢√¢‚Äö¬¨√Ǭ¶.With you as the Provincial Council of Elders satisfied that all procedures and protocols were adhered to, we accept your recommendations for the acceptance of the results.  On behalf of the Presidency, I hereby approve the election of the new Europe PEC."

The best gift for the younger generation and our children is a good example from the older folks. Harnessing the two can only guarantee us one thing 'PROSPERITY'. We at ZAPU UK Europe Province now have both and all it takes to make the dreams of Zimbabwean people a living reality. I now call upon all Zimbabweans both inside Zimbabwe and the world over to rally behind ZAPU as we plot to end corruption, economic mismanagement, oppression and the suffering of our people who have never tasted freedom that should have been theirs some 32 years ago. Dear comrades, craving for change is not good enough, neither is merely desiring it; both are just as bad as lip service. Lip politics bears no fruit or results. Would you rather be bitter with stagnant politics or be better with action. Now is the time to act and Act now!
