Mujuru scoops Amazon award

Vice President Joice Mujuru has received the Distinguished Amazon Award for her achievements in politics and women empowerment.
The award is in honour of women who have excelled in their professional careers and have made a difference in other women's lives.
Speaking after receiving the award in Dubai, Vice President Mujuru said the award is a reminder that the struggle for the emancipation of African women is not yet over, adding that it is worth pursuing considering that there are women and children who are still struggling to make ends meet.
She said the award is also a reminder that political independence is the beginning of freedom that women and men of Africa liberated themselves to enjoy.
