A Bulawayo man has reportedly been trapped for three days under a collapsed gold mining shaft at Stories farm in Mazowe.
Sources familiar with the incident allege Mududuzi Sithole from Nkayi has been trapped underground since Tuesday.
"The illegal miner is still underground efforts are being implemented to rescue him but unfortunately he is saying he came with juju a hyena tale hence he can only be rescued by the mine owner," revealed the source.
Mashonaland Central acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati said he is yet to receive the report, though speculations are that illegal miners do not report in a bid to cover up for their illegal dealings.
"We are yet to receive that report as soon as we get it we will furnish you with details," he said.
Cases of illegal mining and shafts collapsing thereby trapping miners are prevalent in Mazowe.
