Controversial MDC T Masvingo provincial chairman, James Chafungamoyo Gumbi who allegedly resigned recently has dismissed reports that he has resigned from the party position in the face of mounting complaints against candidate impositions in various constituencies and wards around Masvingo.
According to a letter which was written on June 11, 2018 said that Gumbi was stepping down with immediate effect but would wait to hear from the party whether or not he would be allowed to stand as the party's candidate for Zaka East under the circumstances.
Contacted for comment, Gumbi said the letter was fake. He said the letter shows that MDC T which is the country's most formidable opposition had been penetrated.
"There is nothing like that, I am still the chairman of Masvingo. I am coming down there on Thursday for the nomination court. The letter which was supposedly written by me only serves to show that our party has been penetrated," said Gumbi.
