MDC-T suspends entire district executive committee

MDC-T has suspended the entire uMzingwane district executive committee for refusing to welcome Nomalanga Khumala to the party.
The 8 was supposedly suspended unilaterally and individually by MDC-T chairman for Mat South Watshi Sibanda.
Contents of the suspension letter of suspension states that the 8 namely, Sonia Moyo, Velempini Tshili, Dingimpilo Mlilo, Melephi Moyo, Zuze Mguni, Jokonia Ndlovu, Christopher Phambili and Mcebisi Ndlovu have continuously undermined the authority of the province on the spirit of accommodating the current MP Nomalnga Khuma who seems to have defected from MDC led by Welshman Ncube to MDC-T.
The letter further states that the district and ward members boycotted the provincial chairperson's arrival at the Distric rally held at Dula business centre sometime this year.
One of the suspended members said they will not take the letter seriously and will continue to work in uMzingwane district as a committee for MDC-T.
"That letter of suspension, that one is just is a nullity, you can not be just suspend as an individual and unilaterally without a provincial executive looking into issues that warrant a suspension. Further more, when you look at the contents of the letter of suspension, the gentleman has actually suspended the entire district the reasons for the suspension are rather very flimsy they are informed by the desire to impose a candidate as he has previously publicly endorsed or publicly declared that so and so shall be the candidate in the uMzingwane district. "
"Because some of these members of the executive have always raised some questions as to why are we having a scenario where somebody is being declared and yet we are not even in an election time yet there is also a policy that regards the choice of candidates, Why are we having something which is rather obscene here in uMzingwane instead of initiating a dialogue with the concerned district executives members or the people of uMzingwane the gentleman has seen it fit to unilaterally suspend people. We can see here ther decay of democracy, We can see here a scenario where some people want to be more MDC than others, We can see a scenario where some people want to behave as though they have title deeds to this party," concluded that suspended member.
The 8 have been suspended with immediate effect until they appear before the provincial disciplinary committee.
