The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has advised members of the public to ignore and dismiss the social media article on the re-introduction of the local currency with the contempt it deserves.
In a statement, the RBZ Governor, Dr John Mangudya said Zimbabwe will continue to use the multi-currency system in line with government policy.
He said the article is meant to cause unnecessary panic and despondency within the national economy.
Dr Mangudya also said the apex bank shall continue to procure foreign currency cash to support the multi-currency system.
He advised members of the public on the need to use social media appropriately and not for spreading fake news.
