Chamisa piles pressure on Mnangagwa

MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa says the opposition grouping plans to roll out more protests as the coalition ratches up pressure on the Zec to level the playing field ahead of this month's harmonised elections.
A buoyant Chamisa, addressing a bumper crowd of thousands of party supporters said the continued intransigence of the electoral body's chairperson Priscilla Chigumba was only serving to politically galvanise long-suffering Zimbabwe.
Chamisa has said his party would make sure no election takes place this month if their demands are not met by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
Addressing party supporters after a demonstration against ZEC in Harare yesterday, Chamisa said his party would "block" the elections if their demands were ignored by ZEC.
He said this time it would not be the electoral body that would announce the election results, but the MDC Alliance. That, however, would be an open defiance of the laws of Zimbabwe and the guidelines for elections, which could put Chamisa in trouble with the laws of the land.
