A destitute was last week arrested for wandering into the house of Zanu-PF politburo member and Environment Minister Francis Nhema's Borrowdale house in Harare.

According to sources, Shadreck Chigwido (20) was arrested after being spotted loitering around the yard by the Minister's maid. He has since been charged with trespassing.

"The maid informed members of the Police Protection Unit deployed to provide security at the Minister's house. Upon interrogation, the man said he was looking for water to drink and money to buy food," said the source.

"The man initially claimed he lived in Borrowdale before changing and saying he was coming from Chisipitie."

The sources said Chigwido was detained at Borrowdale Police Station before he was handed to the Central Intelligence Organisation who wanted," to establish if the man had any intentions of posing criminal or security threat to the Minister."

Harare police spokesperson James Sabau professed ignorance over the matter.
