A desperate Harare woman was dragged to court for fabricating lies and violence by her boyfriend.
The matter came to light at the Harare civil court where Taurai Matare applied for a protection order against Energy Phiri who harasses him and his family.
"Your worship, I want you to help me with a protection order from this skimmer here. Last year November, she lied to me that she is pregnant and I then took responsibility only to find out after 8 months that she was lying.
"I dumbed her because she showed me how desperate she was to the extent of lying.
"She comes to my workplace, shouts at me and calling me names. She became violent which led to this application.
"After I dumped her, she started fabricating false allegations and reported me to the police. She goes on to harass my wife and kids.
In response, Energy failed to contest the allegations but told the court that Taurai had insulted her leading to his arrest by the police.
"Yes, I went to his workplace because I wanted money for the rentals.
"I reported him to the police because he had assaulted me saying I was not dressed properly," said Energy.
Presiding magistrate Tafadzwa Miti granted the order favouring Matare.
