The death toll from yesterday's millitary killings in Harare has risen to six, after three more people died from injuries sustained during the skirmishes.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the development, adding that 14 people were injured.
She said 26 suspects including 18 at the MDC headquarters in Harare have since been arrested including Shadreck Mashayamombe.
Dismissing social media reports, the police spokesperson said they still require to interview Tendai Biti, but said the MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa is not on their wanted list.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Charamba noted that about 4000 MDC Alliance supporters, some vendors and street kids armed with iron bars, stones and other weapons participated in the riots, damaging at least 22 shops and eight vehicles.
She added that some journalists, including one female, were assaulted.
