Mthwakazi activist Hloniphani Ncube has said despite the fact that he is not a supporter of the MDC Alliance he has gone through its petition against Emmerson Mnangagwa's declared victory and could acknowledge that they have a highly reasonable case.
"I have just gone through the dossier of the MDC Alliance court challenge just to widen my knowledge with current affairs. Please take note I am not an MDC Alliance supporter, but I have discovered that, this political entity has a highly reasonable case," he said.
"I wonder why other players went ahead and endorsed such a gross and careless violation of the Electoral Act. Is it because of ignorance or a mere incident? Why am I raising this issue? We need to have leaders who understand systems of this country before you embark on challenging them because you cannot challenge what you do not know or out of assumption, not just novices who participate in an election without fully understanding the electoral act."
He said ZEC conducted the most disastrous elections but other political players did not even notice or at least produce evidence of rigging except the alliance which has multiple reasonable evidence.
"Gentlemen and gentle ladies if you want to be a leader of a society first of all understand what you are getting yourself into. In reality the alliance has a case and it's a serious one. If Zanu PF gets away with this one then it means we have kissed and shouted good bye to democracy. I advise those who wish to be leaders to go through the electoral and other acts like POSA and so forth so that you lead with knowledge. The attitude of Zanu PF must be challenged," he said.
"Even if they wanted to rig they could have done it in a hidden way. The data produced by ZEC is embarrassing. A question to other candidates; did you notice the concerns raised by the alliance? If the answer is no, then do not ever contest let's try other better leaders. I maintain I am 100 percent Mthwakazi, but MDC Alliance have a case."
