A HARARE man committed suicide a few hours after his wife was buried on Sunday afternoon following a mis-understanding with his in-laws.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector James Sabau said they were not yet aware of what Punish Masokera discussed with the in-laws.
He said Masokera's wife was buried at around 11am on Sunday and after the burial he had a meeting with the in-laws.
"It is believed that they had some quarrels before Masokera went into his bedroom," Insp Sabau said.
He said people thought he was resting and a few hours later some relatives visited to pay their condolences to him.
They knocked the door but he was not responding up until one of them peeped through the window and saw his body hanging.
They broke the door and cut off the rope in a bid to render first aid but Masokera was already dead.
A report was made to the police and Masokera's body was taken to Harare Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
