Chief Tshovani walks away from Heroes Acre

There was drama at Chiredzi District Heroes Acre on Monday after Chief Tshovani and his entourage walked out of a heroes day celebration event held at Chitsanga.

He walked away in protest against the recognition of Neromwe Chieftainship. Neromwe was recently confirmed as chief in the area and the move had been opposed by Chief Tshovani.

The situation degenerated into threats and counter threats until Chief Tshovani later camped at the District Administrator`s office demanding explanations.

Chiredzi District Administrator Lovemore Chisema confirmed the incident.

"It was not a big issue but for sure the chief moved away and we continued with the program. He raised questions about Neromwe Chieftainship but they were directed to the wrong person since I only follow directions from Government leaders," said Chisema.

"The donation of a beast by Neromwe is not bad but the DA said the new chief was appointed in my area and I demanded answers. The matter was intervened by members of the security services who instructed us to camp at the DA`s office but Chisema never pitched up" said Chief Tshovani.
