Man rapes housemaid

A 24-year-old Gweru man has been hauled before a Gweru regional magistrate for allegedly raping a domestic worker at his house.
Makoni Mazarire (24) from Mkoba 13 appeared before Midlands Regional Magistrate Mildred Matuvi facing charges of rape. He was remanded in custody to September 3.
Mazarire did not admit to the allegations levelled against him claiming that he lifted her to his bedroom and tried to have sexual intercourse with her but he did not penetrate.
He said, "I do not admit to the charge that I raped her. I only put my manhood on her privates with her consent because she is my girlfriend.
"There's nothing I did to her that she did not want me to do."
It is the State's case that on August 18 at 189 Mkoba 13, the complainant was doing her domestic chores in the kitchen while the accused person was sleeping in his bedroom. The court heard that the accused went to the kitchen and lifted the complainant to his bedroom but the complainant tried to fight him off. She told him to leave her alone but the accused told her to keep quiet.
The accused forced the complainant to lie on the bed and got on top of her then went on to rape her once without protection.
