A ZIMBABWEAN man based in South Africa was viciously stabbed before being stoned to death in broad daylight over a woman.
The vicious murder happened last week on Wednesday in Hillbrow South Africa.
The deceased Desire Ncube (age not supplied) is originally from Gududu area, Bona in Umguza District, Matabeleland North.
Efforts to get a comment from a family spokesperson, Sithiyile Ncube, were fruitless.
But a relative who requested not to be named said Ncube was relaxing with his girlfriend last week on Wednesday at his flat's stairway when disaster struck.
A man who is believed to be from Plumtree confronted them and accused Ncube of snatching his lover.
"While the pair was getting cosy a man from Plumtree confronted them and started accusing the deceased of snatching his girlfriend. Soon after that a heated argument ensued," he said.
The source went on to say more drama started to unfold as the two "bulls" started to trade insults in full view of the gathered crowd. As a result they started to push and shove each other.
When anger got to a head, the source said the love rival reached for his okapi knife and stabbed Ncube in the stomach.
"He died a painful death as he (Ncube) was stabbed in the stomach twice and once on the leg. After that he stoned him and he died like a dog. No one attempted to intervene to save him as most of the people were afraid to risk their lives," said the source.
After the callous murder the love rival fled.
The source said they reported the matter at Hillbrow police station.
Another Relative, Ntuthuko Mpofu, said Ncube would be buried at Gududu village in Bona.
"We are saddened by the murder of our brother and we hope the law will take its course. He will be laid to rest at Gududu village, Bona," said Mpofu.
