MDC Alliance official Descent Bajila has said Zimbabweans based abroad should be given an opportunity to vote some amongst themselves to be MPs.
"We must push for a Constitutional Amendment to have between 8 and 12 of the 210 seats in Parliament to be Diaspora Constituencies. Zimbabweans based abroad should be given an opportunity to vote some amongst themselves to be MPs. Angola, Algeria, Senegal and other African countries are already doing it. Elsewhere outside Africa it's also becoming an in-thing," he said.
"This will mean that those in the Diaspora can also get consulted by the legislature on matters of national development. The Diaspora MPs will do this job. The money for doing this is there. It's in the Senate. If we do away with that House we will have done ourselves a huge favor."
