MDC 19th anniversary to be held at Gwanzura stadium

The secretary-general for Nelson Chamisa led MDC-T, Douglas Mwonzora, has invited everyone to the 19th anniversary of their party at Gwanzura stadium in Harare next weekend.
"The MDC Alliance family is all geared for the 19th anniversary of the formation of the People's Party at Gwanzura Stadium in Harare on the 15th of September. All are welcome," he tweeted.
The anniversary comes on the back of reports of the police support unit having been placed on high alert in the previous week.
The controversial Public Order and Security Act has recently been reactivated to stop MDC Alliance rallies with the recent abortive rally in Kwekwe.
POSA had of late been shelved by the authorities as opposition parties campaigned freely in the July elections.
It remains to be seen if the relevant authorities will allow the celebration to proceed.
The event will mark the first time Chamisa will address a gathering of the MDC Alliance faithful after the July elections.
