A Mazowe man who allegedly attempted to rape a five-year-old girl was bashed by angry villagers after he was caught in the bush with the minor.
Siza Tinomuda (28) of Smithfield farm in Mazowe was remanded in custody for his shenanigans by Concession resident magistrate Ruth Moyo last Friday.
The state led by public prosecutor Gossy Madambu alleges that on 27 August 2018 Tinoda lured an Early Childhood Development (ECD) pupil into the bush and undressed her in an attempt to rape her.
A friend to the minor who saw Tinoda dragging the minor in a bush rushed to call her parents and the parents came and found the accused on the scene unzipping his trousers.
The father of the girl grabbed the accused by the collar whilst the mother shouted for help from nearby villagers.
The villagers came in rage and matted instant justice on the culprit before surrendering him to the police.
The trial did not kick since Tinoda told the court that he was looking for legal representation.
In another case, a Glendale man was slapped with five months jail term for duping his wife into paying his wife maintenance fee for his minor child.
Josiah Tazivei (28) was spared a jail term by the magistrate Ruth Moyo on condition that he pays $725 he owes to his wife Maidei Gombero.
Public prosecutor Gossy Mudambu told the court that Tazvivei opened a bank account in the name of his wife since he does not have an identity card.
The convict would withdraw the monies at any time he wished like since he claimed it was his money when Gombero filed a police report her husband told the police that he paid the amount he owes but was subsequently proven wrong by the court hence the convict.
