A leader of the Zimbabwe Migrants in South Africa Ngqabutho Nicholas Mabhena has met the Vice President Kembo Mohadi discuss over the documented citizens in that country.
"l had occasion to meet with the Vice President Hon Mohadi in Harare to discuss documentation of Zimbabweans in South Africa in the following categories, 2010 amnesty to those who had fraudulently acquired authentic South African documents; South African White paper on International Migration which speaks to SADC Work Visa, SADC Business Visa & SADC Cross-Border Trade Visa - according to the new policy, there must be a bilateral agreement between the two governments to issue the said visas to Zimbabweans. This seeks to assist undocumented Zimbabweans who missed out on special permits in 2010," he said.
"Zimbabweans in South Africa who are not documented as Zimbabweans (who do not have Zim birth certificates, Zim ID & passport). The request is to have the Zimbabwean office of the Register General to set up a registration centre in South Africa to assist the affected."
He said without saying much on the outcome of the meetings as there are internal consultation within the Zimbabwean government and also with the South African government, talks are going on well.
