MDC mayors have to satisfy national standards- Zvidzai

MDC Alliance senior official Sesel Zvidzai has said MDC mayors have to satisfy two sets of standards.

He said the national standard that requires only one to be a councillor to qualify for election.

"The second set of standards is the MDC family standard that requires managerial experience, tertiary education, understanding and believing in our pro-poor , servant leadership ideology," he said.

"We subjected all our mayoral aspirants to this pair of sets of standards..and recommend selection of the succesful applicants through a lawful whipping practice. There is nothing wrong with this. There is no law against whipping."
