There was chaos in Mabvuku yesterday when a strange looking creature suspected to be a goblin was thrown out of a moving vehicle at Manresa Shopping centre in Mabvuku. Residents jostled to catch a glimpse of the 'goblin' that had a snake inside.
The residents also claimed that the goblin was mysteriously changing positions, although we did not witness that particularly. When we arrived at the scene, the snake was inside a calabash and it was killed by the crowd.
Cayson Missi who was the first to see the chikwambo narrated the incident and said, "I saw a white kombi slowing down and something was thrown out through the window. I was not keen to know what it was but what drew my attention was when I saw a snake coming out of the calabash. I then went to inform others about it and when I came back the goblin had moved from where I first saw it. We then killed the snake," he said.
The residents of Mabvuku suburb said the kombi plied the City-Mabvuku route.
"We can identify the driver because he regularly comes to the car wash. It's either the goblin was left by a passenger in the kombi or the goblin belongs to the owner of the kombi. We have prophets who stay in our neighbourhood, so after they finish their church services, we shall approach them to burn the goblin," said one resident.
Efforts to get a comment from the kombi driver were futile.
