Cholera must be fought by us all as a nation

MDC Alliance official Sesel Zvidzai has said Cholera must be fought by us all as a nation and its no time for blame shifting.

"The first port of call is for Government and local authorities to believe in the philosophy of DISASTER RISK budgeting. The preventive approach to Disaster Risk Mitigation. In the case of cholera, we have to budget for Water and Sanitation upgrades ..very consciously and deliberately," he said.

"Then comes the issue of awareness. Resources have to be put in place for continuous awareness programmes so that communities can proactively deal with conditions that favor the occurrence of Cholera, typhoid and other such diseases."
