Potraz in countrywide customer awareness campaign

THE Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) has continued fulfilling its mandate of ensuring that users of telecoms services know their rights through their countrywide customer awareness campaign.
Potraz has been on a massive drive to educate consumers on their rights which has seen them visit all the ten provinces of the country. This is an important awareness campaign that has enabled the regulator to counter negative use of information and technology as well as inform telecoms services users to gain vital knowledge about their mobile operators.
The key information that has been disseminated to the public are the rights to privacy, rights to get high quality services, and the rights to choose the telecoms operator an individual wants.
The regulator also directed their information to teens and warned them against abuse of the internet by engaging in the sharing of illegal material. Potraz has also informed users on what action they can take if they are not satisfied with the services provided by the providers of the telecoms services.
In order to maximize its outreach program, the regulatory body has engaged with various media houses including ZBC, Radio Zimbabwe and social media for multilingual, visual and audio nationwide coverage. The media houses ensure that the message is received and understood throughout the country.
