I wasn't raped, we are in love; pregnant juvenile tells court

A pregnant 15-year-old Form 3 girl from Velevele Village under Chief Mathe Guyu stunned Gwanda Regional Court recently when she insisted that she was not a victim of rape but was in love with the accused.
The girl told regional magistrate Mark Dzira that she was not raped by Wellington Nsingo (22) but the two were in love. She said she consented to sex with him several times until she fell pregnant.
The State case is that sometime in March this year the accused proposed love to the complainant who accepted. The court heard that since then the accused had sex with the complainant at her place of residence.
The matter came to light when the complainant's mother was tipped that her daughter was pregnant and she took her to Kafusi Clinic where a pregnancy test was conducted.
She disclosed to Charity Sibanda, a nurse at the clinic that she had a love affair.
The matter was remanded to a later date.
