A new wave is on the rise in Zimbabwe , a new narrative is underway following a joint statement by Churches and Civic Society Institutions clearly setting the agenda to reclaim the people's power and voice from political leaders whom they accuse of capturing the "people's struggle".
They have raised concerns and disappointment over the current happenings in Zimbabwe which they attributed to lack of respect of the people, the constitution and commitment to serve the best interest of the masses.
Churches have been on record before ,during and after elections calling for a peace and amicable solutions including dialogue of political leaders as a best way forward. The masses were however challenged to disassociate themselves with any actions on behalf of Political leaders.
"No Politician is worth dying or suffering for and for any reason, part of the statement reads.
"This is clearly a blow on Chamisa's face whose political lifeline is solely dependent on the critical mass shield and mass actions. History has it that oftenly it has been the innocent civilians who emerge victims of these battles , to that end politicians have been urged to shoulder their struggles and desist from capturing the masses in fronting their interests at the expense of the innocent people who sometimes pay even with their lives," said the organisations.
This is coming at a time when Chamisa is once again expected to front the masses in maintaining his political grip on another staged demo of the 29th of September 2018 in Harare. " Carry Your Own Cross", the messege from the Civic giants is clear.
In a statement issued and signed by various organisations from accross the country ,people were reminded to indentify themselves with their issues not to blindly follow politicians's selfish agendas . The organizations committed to identify the masses by their struggle which is bread and butter issues, service delivery and national development question. The new waves shows that the people are shifting dramatically from the usual narrative .
Meanwhile ,to unpack this, impeccable sources revealed that CSOs and Churches leaders will soon be addressing live press conference in Masvingo ,Bulawayo , Harare and Mutare .
