In a bizarre incident a three weeks old baby boy died on Sunday after losing his nose mysteriously and growing four big teeth in a suspected case of witchcraft at Govit farm, Mvurwi.
Chief Makope confirmed the incident saying the whole village is shell-shocked and fear has enveloped the area.
"My village heads came to inform me about this mystery saying the events happened so fast and they have since buried the body since the family is too poor to conduct a funeral as they are cost involved," said Makope.
Makope suspects' witchcraft as the cause of death saying the baby's nose was eaten by an unknown creature on Saturday night and the following morning he grew four teeth and finally died in the afternoon.
"I suspect witchcraft in this death since the child lost his nose to an unknown creature on Saturday and the following day he grew three teeth before dying in the afternoon soon after the death no one wanted to go close to them due to fear so they buried the child and they could not meet costs needed on a funeral."
Chief Makope has expressed dismay of strange happenings in his area of jurisdiction after presiding over three cases of incest where related school children impregnated each other.
"I am not happy with these bizarre incidents last week l presided over three cases of incest at Mbari Secondary were a brother and sister impregnated each other four months ago, at Jengamvura a form three student impregnated his sister doing form one and at Gunguwo Secondary in Chiweshe the same scenario," Makope said.
He said traditionally children born out of incest are not supposed to live and for Mbari pupils they have permission for an abortion from responsible authorities.
