MDC Alliance legislator for Binga South, Prince Dubeko Sibanda has warned that the portfolio committee on health and child care has to see to it that some action towards redressing that problem in prisons is attended to as a matter of urgency.
"The committee should also push for putting a legal mechanism to push for observation of conjugal in prisons so that we can eliminate MSMs that are as a result of the withdrawal of conjugal rights. It can be pushed as a health issue," he said.
This was after MDC Alliance proportional representation MP for Matabeleland North Ruth Labode said they were attending the Parliamentary Induction Workshop.
"I have just asked Retired Justice Chinengo to advice Parliamentarians on how to respond to Requests by MSMs in prisons for condoms and lubricants, considering that the constitution criminalize Men to Men Sex. Am waiting for his answer," she said.
