The MDC-T Manicaland provincial executive has suspended 5 senior party officials, including Mutasa North MP David Chimhini, for alleged indiscipline, amid reports of rising intra-part fights.
The five, who also include Mutasa North district chairperson Adam Muponda, Buhera South district chairperson Aaron Gandanga, Makoni West district chairperson Tendai Pfachi and Mutasa central organising secretary Misheck Kagurabadza.
Part of the suspension letter to Muponda read: "At a meeting held on April 23 at the provincial offices, the executive committee resolved that you be suspended as chairperson pending investigations and subsequent disciplinary hearing for violating the party's code of conduct, section 2, of the constitution of the MDC."
Some of the suspended members were reprimanded by the party's secretary general Tendai Biti last year over allegations of trying to topple the provincial executive.
