Two ZANU PF youths were arraigned before Concession magistrate after masquerading as land officers and duping their three colleagues of $1080.

Simon Madzudzo (33) and Musa Mukahiwa (41) pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud and were remanded in custody to today for sentencing by Concession magistrate Nyasha Machiriori.

Prosecuting, Munyaradzi Nengomasha said on 30 May the duo (Madzudzo and Mukahiwa) met another ZANU PF supporter Garikai kudakwashe Kaparadza at Valley Business Centre, Concession and asked him to pay $350 for the allocation of land and an offer letter before taking his identity card to the lands offices in Concession.

On the same day they used the same modus operandi to trick a Mvurwi man Eria Danger before finally duping Eunice Gede of her $380 using Ecocash.

In mitigation the duo pleaded with the magistrate to consider that they prepared to resituate the complainants as they are close friends and are from the same party youth assembly.

"Your  worship we are begging you not to send us to jail since we are willing to pay back our colleagues these are our colleagues from ZANU PF youth assembly hence we are very good friends, it only that our processes were delayed but we can facilitate the land they need if given a bit of some time," they said.
