Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa has thrown a stinging response to Presidential Adviser Chris Mutsvangwa labelling him as a serial failure who is desperate for attention.
Mliswa was responding to Mutsvangwa's statements over the weekend where he alleged the existence of a cartel of fuel kingpins who have captured the state and how he had been fighting tooth and nail to dismantle the cartel since 2015.
"I think it's really time Mutsvangwa got a life! He has been a failure in every post he has had be it Director General of of ZBC, Ambassador in China, Chair for MMCZ, MP, War Veterans Leader or Advisor to the President. I guess he was either inebriated/hungover when he made his sensational claims? Now he is just seeking relevance.
"Mutsvangwa should be careful that in his bid to seek relevance he doesn't seal his final downfall. Why doesn't he tell us why his son Neville was named in the list as one of the largest forex dealers?
"Anyway let's forgive Mutsvangwa as like I said he must be either drunk, hungover or suffering from Post Election Loss Stress Disorder. Let's give him time and hope he will be rehabilitated."
The Standard over the weekend had quoted Mutsvangwa saying, "Kudakwashe Tagwirei is dividing the presidium. How can a businessman have preferences in the presidium?
"That is trying to turn the country into a banana republic," Mutsvangwa said, without clarifying Tagwirei's leanings in the presidium.
"Tagwirei's business gets about US$80 to US$90 million every month for fuel from the RBZ, yet many companies, some of them largest fuel dealers in the world, want to come and invest in the fuel industry in the country.
"You can ask [Energy] minister Joram Gumbo. There are many who want to come. We can't have a whole country for one man."
He claimed Tagwirei sponsored Norton MP Temba Mliswa in the last elections to keep him out of government because he was speaking against the Sakunda "oligopoly".
