Man rapes ex-wife inside mother-in-law's bedroom

A Bindura man has been jailed an effective nine years by Bindura regional court magistrate Sandra Mupindu after raping his ex-wife at his former mother-in-law's house.
Tonderai Nemhara (34) was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment; three years were suspended on good behaviour leaving him to serve and effective nine years. Prosecuting for the sate Gossy Mudambu told the court that on 29 August 2018 Nemhara followed his 35-year old ex-wife who had divorced him at a date not mentioned at the court and was residing in Madziwa , Bindura.
When Nemhara arrived at the former mother-in-law's homestead he started shouting that the complainant was still his wife despite remarrying as they had three children together.
Nemhara's mother-in-law fled from the scene after sensing danger and the convict dragged the complainant to her mother's bedroom where he tore her underwear and raped her once without protection.
The unremorseful Nemhara went on to tell his mother in-law that he raped the complainant because she was still his wife .
The mother-in-law told her neighbours about the incident who advised the complainant to file a police report leading to the arrest of the accused.
