Four gunmen reportedly robbed and assaulted several people at Ruyamuro service station in Glendale before robbing the service station of more than $700 in cash recently.
The unknown suspects purported to be in need of the scarce fuel at the 24 hour service station around 3 am.
Mashonaland Central acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati confirmed the case saying the suspects are still at large.
"I can confirm the robbery case that occurred on 12 October 2018 at Ruyamuro service station where four men assaulted people who were queuing for fuel with jerry cans before ordering everyone to fall down and robbed them of their cell phones and money, "Masikati said.
The quartet reportedly assaulted nine victims; five of them were customers while four were workers at the service station while asking who was in charge of the service station.
Two of the suspects forced the door open to the main office where they met Vimbai Nyenza (23) counting cash, whom they assaulted before demanding a plastic bag of cash which contained more than 700.
After the robbery the suspects sped off unnoticed and the victims were rushed to Concession hospital and were treated and discharged.
The police urged members of the public to comply when ever armed robbers pounce on them.
"We urge members of the public to comply when ever armed robbers pounce on them since failure to comply can result in them being murdered and we also encourage business people to bank their money on a daily basis and never stay with cash."
