Bulawayo - Harare highway accident kills four on the spot

Four people died on the spot when a commuter omnibus they were travelling in burst its rear left tyre at the 122km peg near Chegutu along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway yesterday.

Although details were still sketchy yesterday, police spokesperson Inspector Tigere Chigome confirmed the accident.

"Yes, there was an accident along the 122km peg near Chegutu. Four people died. They were in a commuter omnibus which had a rear tyre burst," Chigome said.

The accident comes just six days after another one near Mbembesi between Bulawayo and Gweru along the same highway killed six people.
