Jonathan Moyo commemorates November coup

Exiled Former G40 Kingpin Professor Jonathan Moyo on Tuesday commemorate the November 2017 coup that led to the end of 37 years of Robert Mugabe's repressive rule.

Posting on micro-blogging site Twitter on Tuesday Prof Moyo said, "Around 15:30hrs on this day last year, a high powered meeting at State House that had started at 10:00hrs authorised the release of this press statement drafted by SK Moyo dismissing Mnangagwa as one of the country's two vice presidents. The rest is history!"

Prof Moyo posted a dismissal letter signed by Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo announcing the sacking of the then Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT AS VICE PRESIDENT


In accordance with the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Number 20 Act of 2013, Section 329, 6th  Schedule, Paragraph 14, Sub-paragraph (2), His Excellency the President, Comrade R.G. Mugabe, has exercised his Powers to relieve Honourable Vice President E.D. Mnangagwa, of his position as Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe with immediate effect. It had become evident that his conduct in the discharge of his duties had become inconsistent with his official responsibilities. The Vice President has consistently and persistently exhibited traits of disloyalty, disrespect, deceitfulness and unreliability. He has also demonstrated little probity in the execution of his duties.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa returned from South Africa two weeks after his sacking to take charge of ZANU PF  and government when the military led by General Constantino Chiwenga invoked Section 212 of the constitution and moved in to neutralise the seemingly all powerful G40 cabal that had the blessings of the nonagenarian leader.
