$3 million fraud haunts Jonathan Moyo

Exiled former G40 Kingpin Professor Jonathan Moyo's woes are mounting amidst revelations that a political organisation Zimbabwe Economic Freedom Fighters (ZEFF) is pushing for his extradition by Interpol over a US$3 million which he allegedly siphoned from on Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef).
In a statement issued by ZEFFF Commander In Chief Innocent Ndibali the party said, "We are shocked that we only thought that Prof Moyo siphoned only $400 000 but recently reports suggest that he looted more than $3 million dollars. We are informed that the president Emerson Mnangagwa is studying a forensic audit report on Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef) amid indications that more than $3 million could have been taken from the fund in suspicious circumstances.
"We are calling on the ZRP, ZACC, the Special Anti-Corruption Unit set by the president to priorities the charges levelled against Moyo. This case must not even be dragged on because Prof Moyo agreed and accepted that he looted the funds meant for education purposes of our young people.
"ZACC provided its evidence on all their investigations, why is ZRP failing to arrest Moyo so that he is brought back home to answer on his charges? ZRP have the power of Interpol we need action without delay."
ZEFF further called upon the Anti graft crack team to bring to account Prof Moyos cronies who were complicities in the alleged crime.
"We also need Moyos crew which include former deputy minister Godfrey Gandawa, the managers chief executive officer Fredrick Mandizvidza, principal finance director and administrator Nicholas Mapute; human resources manager Ignatius Kanjengo; chief accountant Ropafadzo Mukamba and senior revenue manager, James Gombarago to account. We are not retreating it is now time Zimbabwe to recover what was stolen from us. We cannot live in same societies with these people who are destroying our country and move around scot-free."
Professor Moyo has been suspected to be a refugee in Kenya after fleeing assassination by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces who instituted a military coup that was dubbed Operation Restore Legacy. The coup that ended 37 years of Robert Mugabe's repressive rule was said to be targeting criminals around Mugabe and it ended up targeting Mugabe himself.
