Let's unite, says Mnangagwa

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has implored the nation to unite and work as a collective to energise the economy so that the country achieves its upper middle income economy by 2030.
The president made the remarks at a fundraising golf tournament for the construction of the Midlands State University campus in Kwekwe.
More than $1 million was raised at the fundraising golf tournament that will go towards the construction of the modern campus, with the President donating $50 000.
Addressing the gathering, President Mnangagwa said the nation needs to be together in order to grow the economy and realise its vision of being an upper middle economy by 2030.
He went on to encourage industry to support tertiary institutions so that they produce competent graduates.
Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister, Larry Mavhima applauded the university for its hard work that has seen its medical school attracting specialists, resulting in the provincial hospital benefitting and is now operating with a full complement of specialist doctors.
MSU Vice Chancellor, Professor Victor Muzvidziwa said the new campus will help grow the city's economy.
Kwekwe City Council donated 229 hectares of land for the construction of the new campus, which will house faculties of natural resources, agriculture and law.
