The MDC-T on Sunday condemned violent attacks on Its members in Highfield West this afternoon (Sunday), which they claim were pepetrated by the Zanu PF party.
Apparently Jim Kunaka and some Zanu PF supporters loaded in a truck and a commuter omnibus went into the high density suburb of Highfield, to attack and assault MDC-T members who were preparing for a people's rally at the Western Terminus in Highfield.
The previous night, six people apparently had to be hospitalised after sustaining serious head and body injuries. Of these six, two were children aged 13 and 14.
The MDC-T calls on the police to do their duty and exercise their mandate with utmost diligence so that every citizen in this country feels safe to exercise their rights. They say it is woefully wrong for one political party to determine the people's mindset and control the same through the use of violence.
With elections in mind, it becomes difficult for ordinary citizens to participate when their security is not guaranteed.
