High Court Judge dies

High Court Judge, Justice Tadius Bernard Karwi, has died. He was 57.

Justice Karwi passed away at West End Hospital in Harare at around 10.30pm on Saturday the 5th of May 2012. He had reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest.

Born on 11 July 1955, Judge Karwi did his primary and secondary education in Zimbabwe before proceeding to the University of Nairobi, Kenya, where he studied for and otained a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1981.

Upon returning to Zimbabwe he joined the Attorney-General's Office where he worked from 1981 to 1989 before joining ZESA as corporate secretary and legal advisor.

He was appointed Judge of the High Court in April 2002, a position he held until his death.

Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku expressed his sadness at the death of Justice Karwi, saying the entire Judicial Service Commission is in mourning.

Judge Karwi is survived by a wife and five children.

Mourners are gathered at Number 38 Waller Road, Groombridge, Mount Pleasant, Harare.

Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
